Sofie is back!

Sofie has once again opened the doors to the Greek restaurant she first launched in 1975.
Now located
UPSTAIRS a world away from the bustle of Darling Street.
The restaurant is sure to become synonymous with hospitality and excellent dining.

The smashed plates from Greek restaurants all over the world which adorn the
wall add to the distinctly Greek ambiance.

The blue room which holds 22 people sit-down and
30 stand-up cocktail style for a private function
has a comforting palette of rich vibrant coloured cushions, silk walls,
candle light and is separated from the main restaurant by silky sheer curtains.

In total, Sofie's can accommodate 80 sit-down (150 cocktail style) patrons.

You will enjoy hearty traditional Greek dishes and exciting contemporary creations.

On Saturday evening, stylish Tsifteteli dancers compliment the evening with a brilliant floor show.


Sofie and husband Peter are caring friendly hosts
who provide service with attention to detail
and will make sure your dining experience is unforgettable.

We (Sofie & Peter) have 23 years of experience in events management.
We can do it all....from recommending venues, food, music, DJ/lighting,
sending invitations and saying good night to your last guests.

The HISTORY of SOFIE'S
Sofie opened for the first time downstairs in 1977
before the re-development of the building at 386 Darling Street.

At that time, Dawn Fraser owned and ran the local Riverview Hotel
and the Balmain Bijou Theatre hosted the Rocky Horror Show with
Reg Livermore in the leading role .

Customers would go to:
Dawn's Riverview Hotel for a pre-dinner drink,
Sofie's for dinner,
followed by a viewing of the Rocky Horror Show.

A complete night out.
More than a few years later, in January 2010
Sofie & husband Peter, re-opened UPSTAIRS.


DINING HOURS
We will open for groups of 24 or more for breakfast, lunch or dinner
DINNER 6pm - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
LUNCH  open for groups of 30 or more and for your special celebration.

Sunday is a perfect day at Sofie's for your Christening Celebration
